Recently President Barack Obama has been keeping his commitment to Hilary Clinton befores she joins his cabinet. In the beginning of November she owed about 7.5 million to vendors for her campaign. With the help of Obama she has been able to trim down the debt. Clinton basically has to get rid of this debt before becoming secretary of state because one she does she will not be able to receive any donated money. Obama and his team are doing everything in their effort to make sure her debt is retired before she takes her new job.
Only a few more weeks before President Bush officially leaves office. On Friday December 5th Bush explained that the war an Iraq cost and took much longer than he expected. However he claimed that the world could not have left Saddam Hussein's power unchecked. During his speech he basically defended his middle eastern policies and mentioned what Obama will be able to inherit from them.

We all know that Obama is setting up his future cabinet. Obama has informed us numerous time that health care is a situation that is of importance to him. Recently he just chose another person to add to his team, Tom Daschle who is an U.S. Senate leader that will be over looking our healthcare system. This was an easy choice for Obama since Daschle was already ahead of Obama's healthcare policy group.

Just recently Obama did his first post election television interview on CBS 60 minutes. He discussed his top prioties. Number one on his list is getting a national security team together. Second on his list which is number one for me is getting the economy back in order. Also during the interview Obama shows that he has such a positive outlook for the future of America. He says that his job as president is to restore the confidence that has been lost by many Americans.

Just yesterday a secret meeting was held between Obama and Hilary Clinton. Rumor is she maybe joining his cabinet. She might become secretary of state. Advisers are pushing him for this move, saying that it would give him a "Team of Rivals" cabinet which would free up his time to focus on the economy itself.

On monday Obama was welcomed to the white house by Bush. Him and his wife Michelle met with Bush and his wife. Mrs. Bush showed the white house to Michelle and the living quarters for her the rest of the Obama family. Mean while Bush and Obama discussed the transition that was about to take place. They also discussed how Obama will be making the decisions about the economy and war where Bush left off.
Now that Obama is the new president-elect people are waiting on their tax cuts. However people are willing to wait being that Obama has a bigger image at hand. This is because people realize he has a big task on his shoulders to fix the economy. Beside this some Americans are still upset on Obama's victory last week. Now that Obama has been elected he is now working on who will be joining him in the white house. Obama knows his weaknesses and his strengths, he realizes that his tactics for being successful with his campaign are not going to be the same as his tactics for being president. Its the day after the election and McCain and supporters are trying to figure out how he lost. McCain is taking responsibility for the loss. According to CNN they said that if John McCain had won last night it would have been the biggest political comeback yet. Other factors that seem to affect his win last night are blamed on Palin who would have been vice president and the simple fact that he could not separate himself from Bush. Also another factor was that Obama seemed to have a better strategic campaign. Well unfortunately it doesnt really matter now because the new president is Barack Obama.

Its the day after election day and all should know Barack Obama won. Barack Obama pulled out 340 electoral votes and John McCain had 147 electoral votes and 270 are needed to become president. It has been said that Barack Obama has had the best strategic campaign in all of history. Last night definately proved this. I hope all realize we are watching history unfold right in front of our eyes. Although Obama is excited for his victory he made sure to remind America that we have a tough road ahead of us and alot is to be done.

I hope everyone caught the 30 minute informercial that Obama made last night. I enjoyed it, I looked at it as him using these last few days before election day to break down exactly what he wants to do if he is elected president. Some speculators says he went too far and its showing us that he thinks he is a celebrity. I do not believe that was his intent. Anyways no matter what you believe I just hope everyone is going out to vote next tuesday.

Wednesday, October 29, 2008

Obama will be airing a thirty minute informercial tonight. It will be an ad showing people talk about the challenges they face and Obama will be explaining to them how he will be able to help. His campaign team bought time on CBS, FOX, and NBC for $1 million per net work. The informercial will start at 8 pm tonight. Also other networks will also being showing the informercial. You can also catch it on BET, TV one, and MSNBC. Be sure to try to catch it!!

Recently discovered was a plot to kill Presidential candidate Obama. Feds say that 2 Nazi men where planning on going on a killing spree against African Americans. It was going to be 18 in total and within that 14 beheaded supposedly these numbers are of significance to the Nazi community. When Fed's suspected the two to be guilty of trying to kill Obama they were arrested immediately. To learn more check out this link http://news.aol.com/article/feds-bust-skinhead-plot-to-kill-obama/227448?icid=100214839x1212281996x1200777832

Recently Obama had a night time rally in New Mexico where he discussed McCain getting mad at Obama for comparing him to Bush. Obama said it was almost like "Robin getting mad at Batman". He then went on talking about McCain and mocked him for saying that he [ McCain] would bring change. He once again reminded people that McCain has been voting along with Bush for the past eight years.
With less than 2 weeks left both candidates are trying to get as much support as possible. Both campains are working overtime to make sure they secure their wins for certain states. Obama is definitely trying to pull a win out of Colorado by holding rallies and speeches there. Normally Colorado has gone for Republicans in presidential races. If Obama gets this victory by securing the nine votes that Colorado which could get him the number for victory which is 270 electoral votes.

Just a few weeks ago Sarah Palin was looked at as the ticket that may help John McCain win the race. Now people are claiming that she just maybe the reason that he loses. In the NBC News/Wall Street Journal Poll that was just released last night showed that the number one concern for McCain was Palin's perceived lack of qualifications. For more information check out this website. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/20081022/pl_ynews/ynews_pl106

According to the news channel Abc; Republican Colin Powell is a supporter of Obama. He says he will be voting for him and feels that he is the better candidate for the job. In an interview done this past Sunday Colin Powell said," Obama is better suited to handle the nation's economic problems as well as help improve it's standing in the world."
I hoped all enjoyed the debate last week. I surely did. It was the last time that John McCain was going to be able to prove himself to the public. I'm not quite sure if he proved himself but he sure did show some attitude towards Obama. This however did make the debate quite interesting. Both candidates did re-enforce what they told us they will do when they get into office. I did hear one announcer say that if McCain wins this will be the first time that we (people of america) will be taxed for health care in history.

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

Reminder to everyone. Dont forget to catch the last presidential debate. Hopefully McCain will actually do better than he has in the past. Im sure this will be a good one.

Wednesday, October 8, 2008

Be sure to catch the last presidential debate on Wednesday October 15. Obama lately seems to be the one benefiting from the debates. It has been said that he has won both of them, lets see if McCain will come away with atleast one win on next Wednesday for the last debate.

The presidential debate last night was a good one. They talked about the same issues that they have been talking about. According to most people they are wondering when either candidate has yet to explain what they are going to do about the bailout plan and the economy happening today. It seems like they are tip toeing around the issue when everyone is looking forward to a direct answer to this problem.

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

There is only about four weeks left until election day and rumor is Obama is running the polls while McCain is slowly drifting away. This could be because the Republican campaign is being hurt by the problems of the economy. In a national poll done by CNN Obama leads McCain 53 percent to 45 among likely voters. Obama has now widened his lead in states that were for McCain. However McCain still has the better edge on leading the U.S. fight against terrorism and the war.
I hoped all caught the vice president debate last Thursday. Sarah Palin proved that she could hold her own. I was however more impressed with Biden, he just seemed more at ease with the debate than she did. Overall the debate brought in 70 million viewers this political debate was the second most watched politcal debate in the history of the U.S. To read more about this check out the following link: http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/story?section=news/politics&id=6431017

Sunday, September 28, 2008

I hope everyone tunes in for the vice presidential debate between Palin and Biden airing on Thursday, October 2nd. I believe its going to be on ABC and also at 9:00 pm.
Hopefully everyone tuned into the debate on Friday at 9:00 pm. I really enjoyed watching the debate (well atleast Obama) especially since I usually never watch them. I heard alot of people claim that neither one of them answered certain questions thoroughly. Such as how are they going to be able to handle the bailout situations. Each one admitted that this is going to change the way they handle things when their in office but no one really broke it down into steps of what their going to do. All in all I thought Obama did a good job especially since McCain tried to make Obama seem like he was clueless about whats going on and Obama proved him wrong. Also I think Obama's answers seemed more understandable than McCain's. But overall Obama talked about issues that I had concerns with and did a decent job answering, and he made the debate worth watching.

Governor Palin

After watching her speech last week I was not overly excited about it. It wasn't a boring speech unlike her runningmate John McCain's speech. She did keep me engage even though she kept taking these low blows to Obama but I do understand that is apart of politics. What I would like to see more from her is more interviews with her explaining her views. Alot of others still feel they dont know enough about her to even know if they like her. I would love to see her go on the Bill O'Reilly show. I would love to see how he treats her because he was a bit over the top in the interviews he had with Obama. But regardless the election isnt about her or senator Biden. Our main focus should be on Obama and McCain. I think the press is given her way too much unnecessary attention. But since it is only about 2 more months until the big day I know its only going to get worst.

Palin's acceptance speech is tonight for being the republican presidential candidate

Tonight the first female republican nominee will be given her acceptance speech for republican vice presidential candidate. I am looking forward to her speech tonight and I wonder if she is going to address the issue of her 17 year old daughter being pregnant in her speech. I honestly think her daughter should not be targeted because her daughter is not the one running for vice president. However, it would be nice to see what she has to say about all the negative media attention that has been thrown her way about the situation. Also I think Obama's response to this situation was answered very well. He simply admitted that his mom had him at a young age and doesn't feel that Palin's daughter should be targeted.

Sept 3, 2008 will be another historic night and I personally cant wait to participate in it by watchin the Republican national convention tonight at 10:00 pm.
